Follow that Speaker

Are you a poor listener or do you have an attention deficit disorder? Doesn't matter. When your mind goes on a mental vacation it's your responsibility to refocus it on the speaker – regardless of how boring the topic or speaker. Here's what you do. As soon as it wanders ask yourself, "What's he talking about?" If you can answer it you weren't gone that long. If you can't then ask the speaker. Here' another little trick to assist your memory and stay focused. Repeat to yourself every word the speaker says. It's tiring but then that's why they call it active listening.
